About Us
Indespoke exists to reclaim the high street for local, diverse, and independent brands bridging the gap between underrepresented entrepreneurs and the customers who value quality, story, and impact.
Born out of lived experience, Indespoke is more than just a shop, it’s a bold response to inequality in entrepreneurship and retail. Our founder grew up on a deprived council estate in Birmingham, where creativity and ambition thrived despite limited opportunity. After becoming a playwright and entrepreneur to transform his economic future, he lost his business overnight during the COVID-19 pandemic.
That moment became the spark for something bigger.
Realising many others, refugees, creatives, and overlooked business owners, were facing the same struggle to rebuild, we began supporting diverse entrepreneurs through mentorship, skills-building, and access to opportunity.
What started as a grassroots initiative during COVID grew into a community of over 300 businesses, all working toward one goal: becoming retail-ready.
But our first retail experiment, 'a community gift shop' was often misunderstood. Limited resources meant it came across as a charity outlet, and customers expected bargains rather than understanding the value behind the brands.
We needed a stronger identity. A space that was bolder, better resourced, and rooted in real economic impact. That’s when Indespoke was born.
Today, we host over 50 vendors in-store, have generated over 6 figures in sales, and are expanding into corporate gifting and national e-commerce. We’re building a future where high streets reflect the culture, quality, and creativity of the communities they serve.

For Vendors
